Busy, busy week in Puffin class this week.

We started the week by learning our lines for our class assembly.  The children were very excited to receive their parts and set about learning their lines straight away.  They did brilliantly at learning them, took it very serious and one pupil told me she learnt her lines in the bath!  What better place to learn them.

We had a visit from Hannah this week too.  This was a follow up session from our visit from Scribble and Clipboard.  She told us about engineers and that we were going to be one!  We had to design and make a high structure, out of recyclable materials, to keep the birds eggs safe from predators.   There was lots of team work happening and some great structures were made.  Well done everyone!

We finished off our unit on Grace Darling by talking about what happened to her after the rescue, how she became famous and why we still remember her today.  We had a look at what lifeboats look like today and how they have changed over the years.  Jack gave us a talk about the lifeboat at Craster; what it looks like, what it can do and how it works!

We also finished off our printing unit by making our ‘William Morris’ inspired wrapping paper.  It will be left to dry over the holidays then I will send it home.  The children thought carefully about their designs, then chose their printing technique themselves.  Their final pieces are beautiful.

Thank you to everyone who came to watch our class worship and hope you loved hearing all about what we have learnt about Grace Darling.  The children worked hard to learn their lines and each one did me proud.  Well done Puffins.

Big Maths promotions this week go to: BEATRICE, AIDAN, ROSIE (double promotion) and HARRY (double promotion).  Well done Everyone.

Hope you all have a lovely Easter break, but don’t eat too much chocolate!!

See you in two weeks
