This week in Seal Class, we have been continuing to work on our fraction knowledge in maths by counting along in fractions, comparing equivalent fractions and converting fractions from improper fractions to mixed numbers. In English, we have been learning about using different sentence openers to vary our writing. We looked at using descriptive openers, actions, verbs, and adverbials and where we are to plan sentences based on a scene from Narnia. The children did fantastic jobs of finishing their planning sheets which will help them to write a fantastic descriptive piece of writing. We have also been continuing to learn about States of Matter in science, focusing on the different processes of changing from solids, liquids and gases as well as identifying different melting points of some of our favourite food and drinks. We have also finished off our week of learning by creating word art clouds as a class to share our keywords from our learning about water, coasts and rivers. Just a polite reminder that our Spring 2 homework is due on the 31st. We have had a fantastic effort with homework this week, so well done everyone. Keep up the good work! We didn't win the TTRS Battle this week but it was very close only 400 points between both classes. Well done everyone for your continued efforts in TTRS!
This week's Star of The Week is Lewis for his fantastic model of a river and the detailed key that went alongside it to explain the different parts. Well done!
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Scott
