Illness

If your child is unwell and unable to come to school please call the office by 9.00 am so that they can be marked as absent.  If your child is regularly absent we may require proof of illness in the form of doctor's appointment, pharmacist support etc.

Please note that, in line with government guidelines, if your child has been vomiting or has had diarrhoea they should not return to school for at least 48 hours after the last bout of illness.  This is to reduce the likelihood of spread of the illness.

Please see the enclosed information from the NHS regarding other illnesses.

We can administer prescription medicine, as long as given to us with the prescription details from the doctors on the box/bottle.  Please fill in a medicine form, available from the school office or below.  We are now also able to administer over-the-counter medicine as long as it is given to us in the original box with the dose required clearly marked.  Please fill in a medicine form.

If you believe that your child is unable to undertake part of the statutory curriculum for please speak to your child's class teacher, who will explore how our processes can be adapted to support their needs.  If this is a long term requirement we will require a doctor's (or other specialist's) note as proof of their inability to take part.
