School Day

The school day starts when the doors open at 8.30 am.  The first part of the day is an opportunity to settle in, and practice some of the things we have been learning on previous days.  We call this our 'morning work'.  The tasks we do from 8.30 am help us to gain fluency and make things more automatic, for example handwriting, times tables and reading tasks.

In our Early Years class we access the outside area at various times of the day.  We sometimes go out to play with the bigger children.  In Key Stage 1 and 2 we have a break between 10.15 and 10.30 each day.  Fruit is provided for all Early Years and Key Stage 1 children.  Milk is provided for those that request it (free to under 5s).

Our lunchtime is between 12.00 and 1.00 pm.  Starfish and Puffin classes have their lunch at 12.00 before going out to play; Orcas and Seals go out to play first, then come in for their lunch.

At 2.30 pm each day we hold our daily act of collective worship.
Mondays - class worship
Tuesdays - Rev Alison or Rev Nathanealsinging worship
Wednesdays - Worship by the Waves
Thursdays - singing worship
Fridays - celebration worship

School finishes at 3.00 pm.

In total children are required to be in school from 8.30-3.00 each day.  This equates to 32.5 hours per week.

We run school clubs from 3.00-4.00 for all children in Key Stage 1 and 2 for a nominal fee.

The school is also open for wraparound care for those that need it from 7.30 in the morning and until 5.30 in the afternoon.
