Starfish

What a beautiful day for beach school today.  The weather was glorious. The past two weeks we have been using the story ‘The Everywhere Bear’ by Julia Donaldson in class.  Today we told the story at the beach.  We thought about what might happen if the Everywhere Bear went to the seaside.  We wrote about what he would do at the beach.

After our snack we used musical instruments to make a sound scape for the story.  We thought about what sound the lorry might have made and what noise the water made when the bear was washed down the drain.  We made loud sounds and quiet sounds.

We told the story again and moved like the different parts of the story.  We pretended to fall out of the backpack, get washed down the drain, be squashed in a box of fish, be thrown out the window and be carried in a seagulls beak.

For our maths we pretended to be in Mrs Bishops fish shop.  We used money to buy the different fish that she had for sale.

After lunch we went back to the beach and acted out another teddy bear story, thinking of actions we could perform.  Before we back to school we played some parachute games and chased bubbles.
