Starfish

Today our day at the beach was planned by the Reception children today as it was their last beach school in Starfish Class.  They chose the story ‘The Greedy Goat’ by Petra Horacek.

After the story the children wrote a list of the things that the goat ate.  We then pretended to be the greedy goat when it had a tummy ache and laid on our backs with our legs in the air.

Then we collected sticks, seaweed and shells to make a sand sculpture of the goat on its back.  We did such a good job!

After our snack we did some PE.  We practised our throwing skills by throwing bean bags into hoops.  We took it in turns and waited patiently in the line.

We used the big Numicon and buckets and made sandcastles to fill the holes in the Numicon.  We did some great counting.

Before we went for our lunch we used the water colours to paint some lovely pictures.

Well done Reception for planning a fabulous day, even if we didn’t get everything done!
