Consultation

Notice - 26th April 2024

The Governing Body of Embleton Vincent Edwards Primary School has been thoroughly exploring the potential transition towards academy status. After careful consideration, we firmly believe that this move is in the best interests of our children, staff, and the wider community of the school.

As a result of our research and discussions, our current preference is to explore joining the Pele Trust, as we strongly believe that this collaboration would greatly benefit our children, allowing them to experience their full educational journey within one Trust from Early Years to KS4 at the Duchess High School. Seven other schools within Northumberland are already part of the Pele Trust, including Duchess’ High School and there is more information on the Trust on its website at https://www.peletrust.org.uk

The formal consultation period is scheduled to take place over a six-week period (30 school days) commencing on Monday 29th April 2024, and concluding on Friday 14th June 2024. We encourage all stakeholders, parents and carers to participate in this process as your opinions and feedback are invaluable to us. Please note that even at the end of the consultation process the school does not automatically become an academy, as this is a time when all comments and feedback are gathered. Following this, the Governing Body will meet to consider all feedback received during this process and whether to continue moving forward.

As part of this consultation process, we will be hosting a meeting at the school on Tuesday 7th May at 4:30pm. Your attendance at this meeting welcome.  We are committed to keeping you informed every step of the way and ensuring transparency throughout this journey towards potential academy status. Should you have any questions, or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in nurturing the best possible educational experience for our children.

Yours sincerely,

Nicola Threlfall
Headteacher on behalf of the Governing Body
