22nd March 2024

This week has been assessment week – the children tried their hardest, for which I am pleased.  We also managed to pack in a lot of class assembly practice too.  I was so impressed with how well they all did with our assembly – most only taking one day to learn their lines.  They loved learning the song and I thought they performed it very well.  Thank you for coming to support them on Thursday morning.

We also made some leaflets all about how we can save the world – we will share these with you when they are finished.  In Design technology we began making our puppets.  Measuring and cutting out the material was the trickiest job as we had to make sure we had two pieces of material the same size.  The next problem was joining it together carefully, making sure we left enough room for us to get our hands in.  We all managed it.   All that is left to do now is to add the finishing touches and decorations.  We had so much fun in PE with Sam.  We were thinking about how we can effectively change direction, without bumping into anyone, as well as thinking about varying our speed when we run.  In History we learnt about Mary Seacole.  We learned about her life and then compared it to Florence Nightingale’s.  There were lots of similarities between Mary and Florence.  We talked about how they have both become significant individuals.

Lots of promotions in Big Maths too.  They went to; EMILY H, JOSEPH, LUCY, EMILIE and JESSIE.  There was also a double promotion for ELISE.  Well done Everyone – just goes to show that all your hard work is paying off.

STAR OF THE WEEK this week went to EMILY H – For trying really hard to get those letters and numbers the correct way round.  Emily has been doing lots of self correcting lately which is great.  Well done.

Hope you all have a good weekend – only 4 more days left to do next week before our Easter break.
