Week two done!  Well done.

We used our story map we drew for Jack and the Beanstalk and retold the story in our own words.  We acted out and made tableaus of different parts of the story for the rest of the class to guess.  We also ‘hot seated’ some of the characters to find out more about why they did the things they did.  We then did our ‘cold write’ of a portal story.

In Maths, we have been looking at finding halves of amounts, using counters for support and linking it to our big maths learn its.

We carried on our tennis in PE.  This week we tried to return the ball to our partner! Some of us were more successful than others.  We also carried on with our typing skills in computing too.  In art we tried to recreate some of the textures we found last week on paper.  We used a variety of different resources from around the classroom to do this.  Some of us used scrunched up pieces of paper dipped in paint, some of us used the end of a paintbrush to make a dotty pattern and some of us experimented with different brush strokes to create the textures.

In science we carried on with our plants unit – naming the different parts and finding out what their role is.  We compared the parts of a plant to the different parts of a tree.

WELL DONE to CONNIE who has been promoted in her Learn its in Big Maths!! Super work.

STAR OF THE WEEK this week goes to MARTIN who has used some lovely language in his magic key story.  Well done.
