Worship by the Waves 15.3.24

Our worship theme this week is Service.  We listened to a story about a woman who worked in a very large department store.  She wore a badge that had WWJD (What Would Jesus Do) on it.  One day a homeless lady came into the shop and she helped her try on lots of very expensive dresses.  The homeless lady didn't buy anything but another customer in the shop asked the saleswoman why she spent so much time helping her to try on dresses when she wasn't going to do anything. The saleswoman said, ‘This is what we are here for: to serve and to be kind.  We thought about how Jesus said a lot about how we should treat others. He said, ‘Always treat others as you want them to treat you.’ And he also said, ‘Whenever you do something for someone else, you do it for me.’ When the saleswoman showed kindness to the scruffy lady, Christians believe that she was also showing kindness to her God.
We then thought about how Christians find WWJD (What Would Jesus Do)  helpful, because when you are in a situation where you are not sure what to do, you can pray, and try to copy Jesus.

We then worked in groups to make the letters WWJD in the sand.
