We had another good week with five children completing all their Rainbow Challenges and gold challenge – well done!

In RWInc the Reception children have read the pink ditty book ‘In the Night’ and have been learning the sound ‘ire’ and ‘ure’.  Some of the nursery children have been learning about the sound ‘j’ and have been playing initial sound and rhyming games.  The other nursery children have continued to learn about police officers and have been playing speaking and listening games and activities related to this.

In maths the Reception children have been learning about odd and even numbers.  The nursery children have been learning about using shapes in different ways.  Some nursery children have been learning about spheres and cubes.

In PSHE this half term we are learning about ‘My Wellbeing’.  This week we have been thinking about encouraging each other.  We did some races and we cheered each other on. In Science this week we continued to learn about different types of fruit. We used our senses of feel and taste to identify different fruit.

This week we had Sports Day.  It was such fun!  There were lots of different activities to take part in.  We loved it that our parents were watching.

Starfish star of the week was Kalani.  She is doing such a great job of remembering all the sound we are learning.

Next week our story will be ‘Little Roo and the Big Wide World’ by  Guido Van Genechten.
