What lovely weather we’ve had this week!

In English, we used drama to help us remember the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. When we were on the beach, we took advantage of the space around us and made props using the sand and seaweed—it was a fantastic way to bring the story to life and deepen our understanding of the characters and events.

In maths, we continued our work on measuring and introduced measuring in grams. The children enjoyed comparing different items having lots of great discussions. It was great to see them developing their estimation and reasoning skills through practical activities.

In art, we explored textures in and around our environment. We took rubbings of different surfaces both inside and outside the classroom, and the children were fascinated by the variety of patterns and marks they could create. It was a lovely way to connect art with the world around us.

In music, we revisited single beats and began learning about double beats. Using clapping as a tool, we practised recognising and performing different rhythms, which helped us build a strong sense of timing and coordination.

BIG MATHS promotions this week went to LIAM A, WILLIAM and FEDIR!   Well done to you all.

Have a lovely weekend
