This week in English, we have been diving into the classic tale of Jack and the Beanstalk. We started by creating a story map to help us become familiar with the key events and structure of the story, and this has supported us in retelling it confidently in our own words. As the week went on, we turned our focus to character descriptions, thinking about what kind of person Jack is, how we might describe the giant, and what details make these characters come to life. We've really enjoyed exploring the story together and using our imaginations to build a deeper understanding of the characters.

In maths, we started learning about measuring in metres. We had lots of fun exploring the classroom and deciding which items would be best measured in centimetres and which in metres. This hands-on approach really helped us understand the difference between the two units, and it was great to see everyone working together to estimate, measure, and compare objects all around us

In PSHE, we explored the difference between our needs and wants for survival, and had some thoughtful discussions about what is essential in our lives and what is simply nice to have. It’s been a fantastic week of learning, curiosity, and great conversations!

In PE on the beach this week, we were practising throwing quoits and seeing how far we could throw them. We worked together to help each other use the correct body position, showing great teamwork and encouragement throughout.

BIG MATHS promotions this week went to ANNA, JOSEPH, ELIJAH and double promotion for FEDIR!  Well done to you all.

Have a lovely weekend
