We had a great week with lots of children completing all their Rainbow Challenges and gold challenge - well done!
In RWInc the Reception children have been recapping the sounds that they have learnt and have been writing sentences containing these sounds. Some of the nursery children have been learning about the sound ‘y’ and have been playing initial sound and rhyming games. The other nursery children have continued to learn about police officers and have been playing speaking and listening games and activities related to this.
In maths the Reception children have been learning about weight and practised counting in 2s,5s and 10s. The nursery children have been learning about following instructions with shapes. Some nursery children have been learning about more and less.
On Monday with Miss Murray we made friendship bracelets and thought about who were our friends. We gave our bracelets to our friends. With Mrs Brealey we were finding out about cows and milk. We did an investigation with milk, washing up liquid and food colouring. When we did PE with Sam we practised our football skills. It was quite tricky to control the ball for some of us but we tried really hard.
In RE we heard the story of the precious pearl and found out that Christians believe that knowing God and being part of His family is more valuable than any thing that they own.
Starfish star of the week was Frankie. He has been working really hard to learn and remember his sounds.
The children have chosen the story for next week and have chosen ‘Going to the Volcano’ by Andy Stanton.
