Academy Committee Members

Member role	Maximum number of members for each category	Definition of role
Foundation Members	4	A person appointed to be a member of a school’s academy committee, to ensure that the school preserves its particular religious character or that it is conducted in accordance with the terms of a trust deed. The Diocesan Board of Education nominate two members, whilst the Parochial Church Council nominate the remaining two.
Parent Representatives	2	A parent elected by other parents of children at a school to serve on the Academy Committee
Staff Representatives	2	People working at the school who are elected as members by people who are paid to work at the school.
Co-opted Members	2	Individuals from within the community who the members feel would be able add strength and/or depth to the skillsets of the committee.
Ex-Officio Members	2	The parish priest and the headteacher are automatically members of the committee due to the nature of their roles.
