Spring 1 Week 1

Happy New Year and welcome back, we hit the ground running in Orca class this week. In English we began reading our book for this half term The Explorer by Katherine Rundell this links with our geography topic which is rainforests.

This week the children should have brought home a copy of their project homework for this half term which is based on our history topic of the Maya period. Please note there are reference books within the class library if anyone requires them for support. These can be taken out on a Friday and be kept for 2 weeks before it needs renewed.

Just a note about uniforms please – Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday – school trousers and school jumpers – not hoodies and Wednesday PE kits. Swimming kits will be needed on Monday.

This week the children have been exploring paint and shades with Mrs Threlfall, investigating and inputting data on a line graph, researching Sir Isaac Newton and three of his theories and discovering where in the world the Maya civilisation inhabited and compared it with other key time periods using the wall art in the cloak room to help them.

On Thursday year 6 will have a dental visit from the NHS.

Orca class were so proud to recieve their plectrums, the colours represent the different TTRS levels.
