21st October 2018
Last week we were very fortunate to have some lovely ladies from SUEZ, the waste/recycling company, in.  They talked to the children about recycling and then the ECO council, and younger children, had the chance to make their own recycled paper, from newspaper.  The end results are very impressive; and are being displayed in school.
We were also very lucky to have Rev Alison, Angela Feather and some ladies from church come and do a morning of prayer spaces focussing on the Lord's Prayer.  The children thought about people and places that were special to them, as well as thinking sin and forgiveness, and taking some time out to reflect.  Rev Alison was very impressed with all the children, particularly KS2, who she said had been thinking very carefully about the relationship between Christians and God.
Open the Book came in on Wednesday to share the story of John the Baptist; the children listened well, and those that were asked to help did a great job!
On Friday morning it was lovely to welcome the Toddler group in to school.  It is great that by the time they are 3 and start with us, they will already be familiar with both the school, and some of the staff that will be working with them.
This week we achieved our Eco-School's Bronze Award.  We will continue to work towards our Silver Award, which we are hopeful of achieving next term.  Well done to Miss Thompson and the Eco-council for the work they are doing.
This week on Monday the Y5 and 6 girls will be playing in an inter-school football tournament, there is a parent lunch on Tuesday, flu vaccinations on Thursday, and parent worship on Friday.
Please don't forget that Friday is the last day before the half-term break.  There is a teacher training day on Monday 5th November, with school starting again on Tuesday 6th November.
