This week we had some very excited starfish as the classroom had become very Christmassy! We helped to decorate the big tree in the hall and began rehearsals for our Christmas production. On Tuesday we all wrote letters to Santa and then walked to the Post Office to buy a stamp to post our letter.
In our cooking area we are making fruity and spicy Christmas cakes. Everybody loves it when we have a new recipe to try out. We have discovered that to make the best cakes you have to follow the recipe very carefully and make sure that you measure accurately.
We have also been making bead candy canes, cutting snowflakes, wrapping presents like Santa's elves, decorating snowmen, drawing and labelling snowmen, playing in our nativity roleplay area and lots more!
On Thursday lots of the nursery parents came into school for a 'Stay and Play' session. It was great that we could show them all the exciting things in our classroom. The parents all joined in with our Christmas dough disco and then we were able to let them explore and have a go at some activities themselves!
We ended the week with a Christmassy themed day at the beach.
