Starfish

It was a drizzly beach school today but everybody had wellies and waterproofs on so we were well wrapped up!

As we had enjoyed our Julia Donaldson themed World Book Day so much yesterday we had one of her books as our beach school book today.    We read ‘A Squash and a Squeeze’.

As it was raining we went into the pill box in the sand dunes for our story.  We pretended that it was the little old woman’s small house.  We imagined what it would be like if we had a hen, a goat, a pig and a cow inside with us!  It most definitely would be a squash and a squeeze!

The  rain was still coming down when we came out so we made houses for the little old woman and animals in the sand.  We made sure that they small so it was a squash and a squeeze just like the story.

We made a big zig zag pattern on the beach and walked down to the sea.  We stood quietly and looked at the waves crashing on the sand.  We thought about how lucky we were to live where we do and how fortunate we are to be able to go to school we thought about children in the world at the moment that aren’t so fortunate.

On the way back up the beach we ran up our big zig zag and were ready for our snack when we reached the top.
