2nd February 2020
Last week a group of Year 5s and 6s had a good day at Swansfield Park for Pupil Parliament. We wrote manifestos, had a talk from PC Andy about Road Safety and then debated whether children should be allowed to drive.  We then voted on our next subject for debate - should children have to wear school uniform?  The day was a great opportunity for our children to mix with those from 5 other schools, and we really look forward to the next one.

Thank you to those Year 6 parents that came to the workshop about SATS.  You should have all received the associated handouts from your children.

A special mention must go to Lexi this week.  My unbeaten record on Times Table Rockstars has finally been broken.  Well done to her! (I am now off to practise some more).

This week Puffins are off to the Northumberland Zoo on Wednesday (wear hoodies and tracksuit bottoms, bring waterproofs and wellies) to see and have a talk on some marsupials as part of their work on Australia.  School packed lunches will be provided for all those who usually have school dinners.

You will have received sponsor forms and information on the Great Fraction Challenge for NSPCC Number Day this week.  Please remember all entries need to be in on Wednesday.  We look forward to you coming in to school on Thursday afternoon at 1.30 to do some fractions with your children.
