This week we have had a busy first week back. We have started to look at The Street Beneath Our Feet which will tie in nicely with our Geography and Science for the term. We looked at the front cover and predicted what we think will happen in the story. We have also started looking at properties of shapes by focusing on turns and angles down the beach and also started looking at our statistics unit where we have been interpreting Bar Charts looking at data collected about different types of wildlife around the UK. We have also been working on recalling some of our times tables and fact families. The majority of the class scored 10/10 in their CLIC this week, which is fantastic. We have also looked at What is beneath the Earth's Surface and labelled it. It was very interesting to have a discussion with the children about what they thought was beneath the Earth's Surface. We have started reading Paddington Bear as part of our class book, we are enjoying following his adventures after arriving in the UK and cannot wait to see what he gets up to next.
As always please continue to practice your times tables, the multiplication times check is coming up and we will be practising in school but please make sure you are accessing it at home. Well done to those who have been logging their reading, it is great to see some of the children have also been doing this and commenting on what they have read.
We have a number of trips coming up this term and we are very excited to get out and about. Well done to you all for coming back and adapting to being in the hall, you are doing a great job!
