24th September 2021

This week has been a fairly normal week (whatever that might entail is anybody's guess) but we managed to pack a lot into it.

We have been drawing our story map to go with our class book 'Vlad and the Great Fire of London'.  The children have been involved in the drawing of the pictures and sharing their ideas.  They have been making links to the information learned last week in History, to the story.  Hopefully they will be able to link more ideas together in the coming weeks.

In maths we have been looking at representing numbers and partitioning numbers in a variety of different ways using part whole models and bar models.  We have also been doing big maths with many scores being beaten again this week.  Great to see everyone responding to their challenges.

In History, we looked at the key events of the Great Fire of London.  We talked about and discussed what happened on each of the 4 days the fire was burning for and created a chronological timeline of events.

We were also very excited to have Mr Easton in to take our first music lesson.  I was very impressed with the children's self control and when presented with an instrument resisted the urge to play with it and only did so on instruction.  Well done Puffins.  We can't wait for next week now!

I was also impressed with the amount of children reading at home - Well done.  Keep it up.  Remember to log the reading on the GoRead app and if you are having any difficulties do please get in touch so we can try and resolve it for you.

Have a great weekend everyone
