22nd September 2019
The Orcas had a great time on Thursday at the Pearl of Africa Workshop at Swansfield Park. They enjoyed the concert, practised drumming and were excited to meet old friends from other schools. Similarly Puffins had a good time at Homebase investigating different building materials.
Miss Thompson had a productive two days on her Thrive training. You should all have received a note explaining what Thrive is. Let us know if it didn't quite make it home!
The Orcas have now started pocket trumpets. They have been told that they can take them home to practise, but must bring them in every Wednesday. We do not have spares, so if they don't come in, they will not be able to join in with the lesson.
Don't forget that there is a parent drop-in session after school on Monday. This is an opportunity for you to have an informal chat with your class teacher about how your child has settled in. Feel free to pop in any time between 3 pm and 4 pm.
This week the Orcas are having a STEM week. They are doing lots of exciting activities which hopefully they will come home to tell you all about! Miss Thompson has sent home a list of things that are needed - please try and remember to bring them in.
On Tuesday it is parent lunch - please ensure that you have signed up with Melissa.
After school on Tuesday I will be taking the Year 5 and Year 6 girls to the first of a round robin of inter-school friendly girls' football matches. We will be playing our first match at Felton Primary School. Kick off is at 3.45 pm, and families are more than welcome to come and support!
On Wednesday afternoon we will be hosting a workshop from Be Internet Legends. It is an e-safety presentation and is open to parents as well as the Orca and Puffin children. It aims to start at 2 pm, and should finish about 2.45 (at which point you can take your children home straight away if you would like!)
On Thursday morning the Y3s and Y4s will be taking part in a multi-sports festival at Willowburn. Please wear PE kit and bring a water bottle, packed lunch and swimming kit.
Friday is a Parent Worship, where the Orcas will be showing off some of the things they have been up to during their STEM week.
Please ensure that your child goes on Times Table Rockstars or Reading Eggs this week.
