1st April 2022

Well what a week!!  We managed to survive our first week in the Creighton Hall.  The children adapted remarkably well and just got on with things.  Most things were different; classroom, carpet space, lunchtimes and playtimes – the children just took it in their stride.  They listened well to where they needed to be and what the new routines were.  Hopefully next week will run a bit smoother as we needed to address a couple of issues.

We welcomed Miss Gray back into Puffin class this week.  She will be with us for the next 8 weeks.  It feels like she has never been away! The children were very excited to see her.

This week we have done some comprehension style activities in English as well as some GPS and phonics.  In Maths we started looking at telling the time.  Year 1 were looking at putting the days of the week and months of the year in the correct order.  Year 2 were looking at telling the time to the quarter past and quarter to.  Some even moved on to looking at telling the time to 5 minute intervals.

In RE we remembered the Easter story and retold the story in the correct order.  We reminded ourselves about the things Rev, Alison told us about how Christians prepare for Easter when we visited Church.

We compared the materials that houses in rural Kenya were made from to the materials that our houses are made from in Geography and in PSHE we were looking at acts of kindness we could carry out.  Lots of children are going to help tidy up at home – let’s see if it happens!
