17th September 2021

Wow!  What a busy week we have had.

We enjoyed a visit from the fire engine from Seahouses Fire Station - Thank you to Mrs. Scott for organising this.  It was a great way to start our new topic Fire! Fire!  I am sure the children have already told you so much about it already - but I am sure you can agree that the smiles on their faces shows how much they enjoyed it.

We also enjoyed our first trip of the year to Church.  It seems like forever since we were last there.  The children walked sensibly along to the church and behaved impeccably once inside.  Rev. Alison welcomed us back and blessed the new school year, as well as presenting the children with Bibles to use in class.  We sang songs before heading back to school.

Grant also came in on Thursday and began coaching us tennis - we cannot wait for next Thursday!  Grant was impressed with the talent and behaviour that was displayed - well done Puffins.

We began looking at The Great Fire of London; we became history detectives and were analysing some clues that we were presented with to see if we could answer some questions such as; How did the fire start?  When did the fire start? and how long did it last for?  This lesson required lots of group work and discussions which got us talking to our new classmates.  Next week we will look in more detail at why the fire destroyed so much of the city.

We also had a class vote in order to find our new Church Council and Eco-School Council representatives.  It was a fairly close result.  Once they have been announced I shall update you all.

Hope you all have a good weekend.
