14th October 2018
Thank you so much for your great support at the Harvest Festival last week.  For a small school you donated a large quantity of food, which I know will be put to great use through the Alnwick Food Bank.  It was lovely to see so many of you, together with grandparents, at the service.

Another thank you goes to the parents who came to parent lunch - it was great to see the hall so full, and the children really enjoy sharing their meal with you.

On Wednesday Katie and Kevin, the Community Police Officers came in to school to talk to the children about firework safety.  Everyone listened carefully, and had some great ideas about how we could make sure that pets aren't frightened of the loud noises (although I am not sure about the practicalities of bring horses into the house...!)

Due to the inclement weather forecast we decided to have a shortened day on the beach on Friday.  As it turned out, the bad weather didn't come in until after school, but it was better to be safe than sorry!  We managed to fill the afternoon with plenty of other work, so it wasn't the end of the world.

This week Suez, the recycling firm, are coming in to do an assembly, and then do a workshop with the Eco-council children; and Rev Alison and Angela will be coming in to do some work on prayer spaces with the children.  I will report back next weekend on how they went!
