What a fantastic first week back we have had. The children were very excited to share what they had done over the holidays and it sounds like parents and Santa have been very generous this year. We have had a busy first week back with only 4 days to get us back into the swing of things. We have our new class jobs this half-term, the children all really enjoy their jobs and they do a fantastic job. As to school this week we have been starting our multiplication and division unit in maths and the children have sure come back with their maths brains on. They managed to complete both fluency and problem-solving and reasoning questions and got most if not all questions correct. In English this week we have started to infer things about our new book The Butterfly Lion by Michael Morpurgo and have also started our Guided Reading book The Iron Man and managed to finish the first chapter. The children were intrigued about the Iron Man being put together again.

Leighton's Blog for the Week:
This week we did English by doing the Butterfly Lion and in maths, we did multiplication by 10, 100 and dividing by 10. We started reading Lena, The Sea and Me as our class reading book, and we also did applications of technology.

Well done to you both!

Just a reminder swimming starts on Monday, can we make sure we bring everything we need into school and this half-term homework will be available next week on Google Classroom and I will also post it on Class Dojo. There should be by the end of the half-term 6 pieces of work submitted.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend,
Miss Scott
