This week in Seal Class we started the week with our very own Roman Day. The Romans had come to Embleton looking to recruit soldiers for their legion and they managed to find 11. The children worked as a team by practising Roman Marching to support them forming their legion to stop invasions. We also did some Roman Day Circuit Training, where most children beat their own personal goal! We were then lucky to have a Virtual Workshop led by The British Museum that focused on Roman Treasure. We identified letters on a coin and created our own team to find Roman Treasure. It was very exciting but hard work. In the afternoon, we all played the role of a Roman Emperor. We had to make decisions about what was happening in Rome, whilst keeping the Military, Senate and Populace happy. We managed to do this second time round. Then we were local news reporters reporting on the invasion of Embleton. What an interesting day we had!

This week we have also been practising our Christmas Carols and readings, which has really put us in the Christmas mood. They all sound fantastic and I’m sure they cannot wait for you to see the final product.

In maths this week we have been focusing on our times tables. We are getting much better but some do need to practise at home as we are looking at 4x 6x and 9x. Which are very tricky.

In English, we are focusing on our new unit of work, where we are concentrating on creating leaflets. This week we explored different leaflets and annotated some of the things we found and why we thought they had been used. This is in preparation for us writing our own leaflets.

Our Class Dojo Sense of the Week is:
