Another busy week in Puffin class!

I am really pleased that we have been working hard on our listening skills and following instructions this week.  It is such a big change moving from Early Years to Year 1 but we are getting there!  The Year 2's are being good role models (most of the time) and we are getting used to being 'buddies' to our friends if we are unsure what to do.

We have worked hard this week on finishing our Funnybones stories - they are all done and have been made into a lovely book to display on the wall.  We will concentrate on recording them next week for you all to hear!

We also finished off our place value unit in Maths and next week we are moving onto looking at addition and subtraction.

Big Maths carried on being successful with another 4 promotions!  MARY got promoted in her CLIC challenges, which means she has got 10/10 3 weeks in a row!  Well done.

Also, CAMERON, ZACH and ELLA got all their Learn Its correct earning them a promotion to the next level too (second week in a row for ELLA!)  Fantastic work guys!

Most of the other children either got 10/10 or improved their score from last week as their were lots of certificates handed out this week.  Fingers crossed for more promotions in the next few weeks!!!  Watch this space!

In our RE we discussed times when we have been a good friend.  I am pleased to hear that most of the times that the children have been good friends is when they have been sharing or kind to others.

We also looked at another significant nurse, Mary Seacole.  I wonder if they children can tell you anything about her? We looked at what she did to change nursing for the better.

Have a good weekend and will see you on Monday
