What a lovely week we have had in Seal Class. We have been very busy with our learning. We started this week with our Sir Linkalot Spellings. The children seem to love his humorous way to remember how to spell words. We have been focusing on our place value this week and the Year 3s have been looking at comparing numbers and 3-digit numbers. The year 4s have been looking at numbers up to 10,000. Some found this tricky but they managed to persevere and get there in the end. In our Big Write, we looked at a story based on Terry the Turtle, who was only 5 days old and was scared to leave his mum. The children continued to write the story and took it off to some lovely places. Their handwriting is improving and the children are working very hard with their writing. In science, we looked at creating Stick Skeletons as this was part of our topic. They could make a reptile, a bird or a human. The children really looked into the detail they had to include and discussed similarities and differences between them. In history, we looked at the Early Christian Church and how religion has changed in the local area. The children have discussed and questioned so many things it became a bit of a philosophical debate. They learned the importance of Lindisfarne, how it had changed since then and why Northumberland played a key role. In Art, we have been continuing to develop our weaving skills and are currently at the stage of threading the warp.
This Week's Class Dojo Sense of The Week is Freddie.
Star Writer this week is Charlie.
