Headteacher's Blog 5 Feb 17
5th February 2017
It was lovely for so many of the Reception parents to come in and share lunch with us this week. Thank you very much for taking the time to come and eat with your children. Hopefully you were impressed with how independent they are and what fabulous table manners they have!
Thank you so much again to the 'Open the Book' group, for coming in and sharing assembly with us on Wednesday.
This week we had a very successful NSPCC Number Day, where the children played a range of number games - bingo, shut the box, dice games and cards. It was great fun, and we all decided that we actually quite liked maths! Our overall winner was Tabitha - well done! Please remember to bring in sponsor money this week, so that we can send it off to the NSPCC.
Next week we have got Safer Internet Day on Tuesday. Class 1 will be looking at what information they shouldn't share online about themselves, particularly relating to images. Class 2 will be taking this theme further to explore how images that are seen online might not be telling the whole story.
Also on Tuesday, Class 1 parents (Year 1 and Reception) are invited in to 'stay and play' with their children. We will have a short workshop beforehand on reading with your child.
As a bit of a heads up, on Monday 13th February we will not be going to Willowburn for sports, as they have a swimming gala on that day. We have other activities planned, but ask for children to come in to school in school uniform.
The Sports award this week went to Megan for great effort swimming, and the achievement award went to Daniel for excellent writing. Well done to both of you!
