17th September 2017
As ever, we have had a very busy week!
Key Stage 1 and 2 started their swimming and PE at Willowburn this week. Key Stage 2 are doing trampolining with Sandra, and Key Stage 1 are doing gymnastics with Sam. The children all worked really hard during the lessons.
It was lovely to welcome the Toddler Group families back on Monday morning. We are delighted to announce that the group are the beneficiaries of almost £500 from a fundraiser at the Dunstanburgh Golf Club. The money will be spent on resources and storage for the group. This week they will be making a card to thank the Golf Club for their generous donation.
We started our after school clubs this week. It is fabulous that they are so well attended. Cooking club made some delicious-looking stuffed peppers; unfortunately there were not enough for me to take home for my tea! Despite the weather turning decidedly autumnal, the children enjoyed outdoor multisports with Callum - please don't forget to make sure outdoor PE kit is in school for this club.
We were delighted to welcome the Community Lunch Club members back again on Thursday, where they were treated to a delicious roast turkey lunch.
On Friday we held our first Parent Assembly of the year, and we were really pleased that Abbie's little one-day old brother could also come - he definitely fits our theme of this half-term of 'new beginnings'! The outgoing school council did a great job of leading the assembly; and I am sure that the parents will become more confident singing in our assemblies as the weeks go on!
It was great to see so many parents attending the Phonics, Reading and Writing workshop after school on Friday. A copy of the slides are on the Class 1 page.
This week will, no doubt, be equally as busy!!
Please don't forget to send your child in to school with coats. We would also appreciate it if they had wellies and waterproof trousers in school at all times, to allow us to access the outside space in all weather.
