12th November 2017
What a great visit we had from Tracey Corduroy!  She read some of her stories, told us how she got her ideas and the process of becoming a published author.  She showed us how to draw one of the characters from her latest book, and we played a great game.  It was fab that so many families also chose to buy one of her books at the event.  On Friday afternoon the Key Stage 2 children came and read some more of her stories to the younger children.

It was lovely to see all the Year 2 parents coming and sharing lunch with their children on Tuesday.  We do appreciate you taking the time to spend it with us.

On Friday we spent some time thinking about Remembrance Day and what it means to us.  We all created artwork, which was taken down to the Church for a display for the Remembrance Sunday service.

Next week for Children in Need we have the following activities:

Monday - 10-11 am Toddler Group are hosting a coffee morning in school.  Please bring any donations of cakes etc in the morning.  You are all more than welcome to come along and buy a coffee and piece of cake.

Friday - Spotty Hat Parade.  Make and wear a spotty hat (bring in on the day) for a donation.  We will be having a parade as part of the Parents' Worship at 8.45 am.

Also next week, KS2 will be taking part in UK Parliament Week.  They will be exploring what the UK Parliament is and does, investigating how democracy works and carrying out a number of related activities.  On Friday morning we will be joined by our Member of Parliament, Anne-Marie Trevelyan MP, to gain a first-hand experience of what being an MP is like.

There has been a number of children off this week with a sick bug.  All parents are reminded that, in order to reduce the likelihood of further infection, government guidelines are that children should not return to school until 48 hours after the last bout.
